I have a new friend. Her name is Kathy. I like Kathy. She single-handedly set a ball rolling today which will almost amount to saving my life.
Let me tell you a story...
I have another friend. His name is Mr. Keurig. He came into my life just over a year ago. We see each other daily, several times a day to be exact. We share meals together...we read together...we have God-dates together...we have friend-time together. We're pretty close. But one day recently, Mr. Keurig suffered a great tragedy. He just couldn't go on...he couldn't even really explain to us why, he just couldn't go on any more. We were greatly alarmed, and frantically sought help. It was then that we met Kathy...sweet, patient, helpful Kathy. She knew what questions to ask us, even over the phone. She patiently walked us through some life-saving techniques. But she was unsure why Mr. Keurig had lost his will to live. And then she said the words that made the birds sing..."It's going to be OK. Mr. Keurig is just ready to go, and so we're going to let him. I know Mr. Keurig's birthday has already past, but I'm going to send you a new Mr. Keurig anyway. He'll arrive in 4-6 days. You enjoy your new friend, OK?"
I'll never be able to thank my new friend Kathy enough. When all seemed lost, she gladly stepped in to save the day.
R.I.P Mr. Keurig #1. Our time together was grand. Thanks for all the memories.
And the countdown to Mr. Keurig #2 begins...all because of my new friend, Kathy.
Mr. Keurig, the original.

Dear Elizabeth,
Great sadness filled my heart as I read of Mr. Kuerig's untimely passing. I will miss him and will always treasure the memories of my time with him.
I must however wish you a hearty congratulations as you welcome the newest member of the Rhyno family. May his time with you be as enjoyable, and longer lasting.
Sincerly,
Heather
P.S. I finally added a post to my site!
You crack me up!
These really are the best. My roanoke mom --we are house sitting for 2 weeks and we will have the coffee maker--has one and we love them!
Oh my.... I really thought you were serious about someone. Wow, I think I need more sleep and I think I will go check my hair color too. Well I am still laughing at myself and your story.
Can't wait to help you break him in.
oops that anonymous was mine....I hit the wrong button. Oh goodness
You had me very confused.....
Thanks so much for your words of condolences, folks (sniff). My heart goes out to all of you who have not as yet met a friend like Mr. Keurig. He leaves nothing to be desired in the art and necessity of coffee. You should meet him. :)
Ahhh! Good old Mr. Keurig! We also shared many memories with Mr. Keurig and our Rhyno friends. We are so glad to hear #2 is on the way!
You are too funny!
I read your post and was sure that some sort of memorial was to follow [and I guess that there was, just not the kind I thought i'd be. *Giggle*]
Love,
Jennelle
P.S. Thanks for the smile - I needed it today!
It may be preggo hormones, but i nearly cried reading that and then felt retarded when I got to the end! I guess I needed that!
