Unexpected, Undeserved and Unbelievable

I absolutely must praise and thank the Lord, because someone has anonymously given me a great blessing. I believe that when someone blesses me anonymously it is a great opportunity to speak, Sing, SHOUT thanksgiving to the One who is the greatest blessing of all.

I count my blog as a great place to testify of His goodness, His graciousness, and His amazing desire to bless, beyond measure, someone who most certainly has not earned it.

As you may or may not know, I love to make music. Specifically, I love to make music for my God. I write a lot, I play always, and I love to sing for Him. I have a desire inside of me to share some of this music publicly so that others may sing new songs of praise to Him. I often must relinquish self to the Lord in this...as any of you who are musical will know, it is so easy to be enticed to be prideful about a musical gift, and it is intensely important to remain humble, remembering just Who created the gift. I must pray often that I would not be seen or heard, and that only the Lord would be glorified.

But at the same time, I believe it is wrong to hide a gift simply to avoid the inner conflict of it all. I know that I know that the Lord has gifted me, and that this gift has an ultimate purpose to glorify Him and affect His Kingdom. With humility I must pursue it, develop it, serve with it and be bold with it.

I have been blessed beyond measure this week with unexpected resources to facilitate some of this. Someone has anonymously gifted me with an incredible amount of studio recording equipment which will enable me, in my own home, to do much more with the music I am writing that I've ever thought possible. I am stunned, humbled and overwhelmed with both a need to thank the Lord, and a responsibility to get to work on the music that is stirring around within my heart. (Oh...and to learn how in the name of time to use this stuff!)

I am amazed at His timing...He has gifted a worshiper with resources to facilitate the expression and production of musical worship, while at the same time is teaching her that true, undefiled worship is SO much more than just music. He baffles me and humbles me.

Ever will I praise Him.

WOW! Bless the Lord, O my soul, along with you! that is such an amazing gift Elizabeth. finally, after so many years of waiting and praying and soaking in His presence to hear His words and melodies He has given you the means to record those secrets of His heart and yours. You truly have a gift of worship, expression, and the fruit of humility in all you do (and sing/write). God uses you (even in foreign countries!) to lead people closer to His throne. May He even more DEEPLY train you in true and undefiled worship as you record at home!!

What an incredible blessing. As one who has been worshiping along with you the last few days as I drive to and from work, I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for His music through you. Thanks for letting us rejoice along with you!

Sweet! Out of my curiousity, how did the equipment arrive to you?

I have many friends that have studios in their home and they find them most helpful in continuing their passion with music.

I love how God is blessing you with this stuff to encourage you to continue to write for Him.

I also like how you worded the whole pride thing. You handled that very correctly and clearly.

The giver is from our church apparently, and approached Scott more than a month ago, insisting on blessing me in some way. They worked with Scott to research the most useable options, and Scott ordered through a friend in our church who works in electronics and recording equipment. It all arrived to my door via our friend on an evening we were home, and was assembled before my eyes. I was dumbfounded, literally. I didn't know what to say! The last part, an iMac computer, just arrived tonight...I'm looking forward to trying that out tomorrow.

I'm still blown away. And I can't wait to see what I can do with it! :)

Oh...it will be a while. I'm going to record Undefiled Worship in Portland in the next month or so. Some others I'll work at at home...but it's still a lot of wirk ahead of me.

And by wirk, of course I meant 'work'. :)

That is so neat. When you're living in God's Will, He provides what you need to do His Will. This is so cool read about.

Hi Elizabeth,
I go to Bethany bible college and I'm pretty sure we sing one of your songs called undefiled worship at our chapel service every once in awhile. I haven't been able to get this song out of my head. I truly appreciate the lyrics, they are so real. So if this is your song, thanks for your obedience to God and your willingness to follow His will for your life. You are making a difference..I know this song has impacted people here.
