Even though, all around her, things were shattered...He was still enough.
Even though it seemed as though He had changed...He never had.
Even though she had nothing, she had Everything she needed...
Even though she couldn't see the tightrope before her, she stepped out her foot and trusted the net beneath. She couldn't see it either, but she knew it was there. If she needed it, it would gently cradle her fall.
His invitation was enough. His surety so much more dependable than her waivering faith. Even the calamity all around her, though seeming out of control, was still held within the palm of His sovereign hand. He was still at work. He was still sure.
For her, that would be enough..His certainty, not hers, was all that mattered.
Her eyes grew bigger, her tummy fluttered. But though the knees of her faith, worn by hours of searching, trembled with timidity, she would rise.
And stand.
This was their covenant dance.

wow. I have read and re-read your post. it is poetic elegance. your words portray so vividly the beauty of a woman of Christ - the woman I see in you day after day! these words dance across the page as they spark my heart to take faith afresh and dance with a God who is very real and very tender and consistent when everything is falling apart. this is one of the most innocent and pure and real posts I've ever seen in blogdom. so glad you shared it. love you friend.
I love you too....keep standing. :)
I love you :)
Will you be at Ministerial? If so, we should schedule a cuddle and a catch-up :)
Praise the Lord! That He wants to reach out for us and invite us into a Covenant Dance with Him!
You live to worship. You breathe it. The Lord is birthing something in me. I sense it...I have no idea what it is. But it is a deepness I have been longing for for some time now.
And so my heart echoes with your heart tonight.
I was made to worship. As some would say, "Come on, sister!"
;-)
when i read my comment again, I laughed. I was at midnight, after coming off a worship conference, and I was a little exuberant. ;-)
I'll tell Michelle you said hi.
