It's beginnig to look a lot like...
Living the American Way...Thanksgiving being done means that Christmas is officially here. Canadian citizens, but American residents, we have chosen to dive in feverishly to this time-honored American tradition. We enjoyed a fabulous Thanksgiving Day, and began our Christmas decorating on that day. The following morning found us at a local Christmas Tree farm, where we selected a perfect 9' tree to decorate our 10' ceiling living room. Just any ol' tree wouldn't do! Kiddos in tow, we watched it get chopped down for us, then brought it home and celebrated, tree-style, for the rest of the day. The next day I finally tackled a project I had planned for a year, but had not yet even begun. I finally made curtains for our living room windows, and we got them hung, completing our "finished" look. ( + One Tree; - All mini blinds!)
I like this whole-month-of-celebrating thing. Jesus' birthday is definitely worth at least that, eh? I'm excited about decorating, but I want my whole life to exhibit an expectancy of Jesus, not just my living room.
Expect Him today, OK?

I love the pictures. You "Mainers" get started right after thanksgving! My classroom looks like Christmas but my house doesn't yet.
We have a new house to decorate so its very fun! Having a cape code is a great Christmas home on the outside! I wanted to get the outside lights up, but since I was sick thanksgiving weekend I didn't get to it.
We are going to decorate this weekend. Its also hard to think of Christmas when its 70F out. Its weird being in the south!
Love the decor - as always. Nice job on the drapes too! I took note of them (and thought those are new!) before I read you just made them- they look fab!
Sounds like you had fun getting the tree. I'm looking forward to getting ours done too. We like to go pick it out as well, and I think Mya just might be old enough to be into it this year!
I just put up the garland and nativity scene last night....tree to come...
Looking good Elizabeth......and the curtains look Wonderful!!!! That is one thing I miss.... decorating at Christmas time.

I caved and went to your blog before coming over. I'm still coming to see this live.
The house looks so festive! Love it! AND those curtains are incredible! Wanna make some for me too? :) Love and miss you all very much!
ok! (expect Jesus today, you got it!) your curtains are, as previously discussed, so perfectly reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice. I hope to visit with one Darcy and two Rhyno's in there someday ;)
Wow, your house looks absolutely beautiful! Scine we are making a big move on Dec 30th we are not really decorating for Christmas this year. I'm missing all the tradition. But we will try to do it up big next year.
Can you email me your mailing address at hdurkee@cox.net ?
