Victorious

Her mind raced with endless possibilities and scenarios...how could she know she could trust? The heartbeat she could hear in her ears was only overshadowed by the deafening shallowness of her breaths as they came in and out, one after another. Trembling fingers tried to keep busy with the mundane, but fumbled with distraction, relentlessly pursued. She caught her breath as her head turned and she saw light shining where death had cast its shadow. And hope dawned and stood in His name, steadying both hand and breath. Knees gave way to ground as she cried out, and He caused justice to be victorious.
